For every single one of our trainers, rebounding aligns with their individual purpose, passion and conviction. All of them have such unique ways of expressing themselves in their classes. We’ve meticulously handpicked the best-of-the-best to form the greatest derivative of rebounding in the world.

We have so many different styles and preferences of rebounding exercise - at least one for every age, stage, fitness level and personality. Take your pick of one –  or more – styles, find one that suits you best and learn more about each of our committed, enthusiastic instructors in the process!

We offer a wide variety of workout approaches because we know that enjoyment equals consistency. Hopefully you, just like our trainers, can find a rebounding style that allows you to express yourself as authentically as possible on your wellness journey.

Why rebounding?

Rebounding is more than just a workout. It offers an incredible health boost for the whole system. It supports the body’s natural detox processes, boosts circulation (therefore reducing cellulite), builds a strong core and tones incredibly.

The workouts of each class vary to prevent boredom. Each one is designed to help you build strength, burn fat and calories, and detox –  all while having fun. You can't help but smile every time you bounce!

Where are these Toka classes?

In-person classes take place at our studio, at 14 Da Gama Avenue Eastleigh Ridge Edenvale. Find us on Google Maps HERE. All the necessary equipment, including a rebounder, are provided.

Our studio has changing and shower facilities, lockers, free Wi-Fi and more than enough safe FREE parking. We also have a coffee bar.


What will I need?

When you bounce with us, ALL the necessary accessories and a bounti Rebounder will be supplied for you, by us, to use for your chosen class.

Karen Bekker - Owner

My rebounding journey

Hi, I am Karen Bekker, and very happily in my 60's. I have always, for as long as I can remember... been passionate about exercise in any shape or form. From Swimming, to cycling, taking part in Tri-athlons, running races and countless hours in the gym. In 2016, we considered relocating to Cape Town from Johannesburg, and at this stage I took up the challenge to complete a Diploma as an Exercise professional. In 2017, After receiving the terrifying diagnosis of Breast Cancer, I took this in my stride and accepted the challenge to fight and beat this frightening illness. I am blessed and happy to be in remission and have been since 2018. During the Covid epidemic, I was still studying and completing experiential hours for my Fitness Diploma, and as a result of the virus, not able to do in-person hours to complete my Degree, all my work had to be completed online. This is where I came across Lisa Raleigh... wow the Rebounding modality bug bite, and I was hooked. I setout to qualify as a Bounti Instructor, and realize my dream of opening and running my own Rebounding Studio in Edenvale. A Dream come true!!!

As an added extra to my exercise offerings I am a Qualified Mat Pilates Instructor which I carry through to my rebounding to Sculp and define as well as concentrate on correct form into all the classes that I take.

My rebounding classes

"I host just about any kind of Rebounding class. However, my standard is a 60-minute, Intermediate to advanced rebounding class. Combining strength, Tabata, high-intensity interval training (HIIT), core and flexibility work – all in a way that brings some of my character to the rebounder. I like to think of my classes as personal training on a rebounder.

When I formulate a rebounding class, I’m driven by results, creative choreography, exciting playlists and equipment that deliver the purest version of a Rebounding class. I would say that my classes are uplifting, progressive and full of great energy!

I also offer HIIT classes, which are for those at a more advanced level of fitness. HIIT training includes cycles of high-intensity work and recovery. It’s long been a gym favorite due to its interactive and challenging nature. It can be hard on the joints and jarring to the body, but that’s where Rebounding comes to save the day! 

The main benefit of adding a rebounder to HIIT is, while the workout is at a super high-intensity – you can reach peak heart rate numbers – it's also incredibly low-impact. All of the tension and strain on your joints is absorbed by the mat of the rebounder. That means you can really push yourself, while still protecting and preserving your body’s mobility.

These high-intensity classes include a vigorous and high-energy 36-minute session where we train hard and fast. These rebounding classes offer all the benefits of HIIT training, minus the associated injury risk!

Carmen's rebounding journey

Hi my name is Carmen Merckel. I am a Lisa Raleigh Certified Rebounding Instructor, for just over 3 years. I have always enjoyed sport and staying fit. I have played many different sports in my life and many forms of exercise, including CrossFit and of recent, Pilates. I have not quite enjoyed my sports or my exercise as much as I have enjoyed rebounding. When I first started, I was not very fit or strong as I struggled with my mental health and resulted in sport and exercise stopping. Rebounding is a way for me to alleviate my stress and also just to forget about everything for 30-45 minutes. I am currently studying a Bachelor of Education and working at a Remedial School. I am hoping to combine my love of teaching with my love of rebounding and help children or all people to learn about how rebounding is great for your body and helping to boost their confidence.

Miekie

Miekie's rebounding journey

Hi, my name is Miekie, and I have always been very much Health and Fitness oriented. Always maintaining a very healthy lifestyle, playing League Squash and consistently working out at the gym with my Personal Trainer.

Due to the High impact nature of Squash, I started experiencing problems with my knees and suffered various injuries. This, and because of the COVID virus lockdown I had to find another modality of exercise. As an events co-ordinator at Jeppe Quondam Sports I was fortunate enough to hear about Toka Bounce Studio and introduced to rebounding with Karen. It was love at first bounce… I landed up buying my own rebounder shortly after and additionally started online classes with Lisa Raleigh as well. Very soon I started to feel a shift, not only in my strength, fitness and core, but in my mind as well.

Rebounding is a modality that just makes me so happy and allows me to express myself – talk about an endorphin overload! My favourite part about it is that it’s low impact, meaning that it reduces injury risk and joint and muscle pain. From my experience, it’s the best form of training for a full-body workout AND detox.

Inspired and now addicted so much, I decided to totally step out of my comfort zone and become a Lisa Raleigh Certified Bounti instructor at the beginning of 2023. I now instruct two classes a week at Toka Studio and have a ball every single time with my attendees.

Miekie’s classes

"Before rebounding, my workout routine focused a lot on strength, definition, and HIIT, so that’s what my classes bring to the table. My classes are around 60 minutes long for those at an intermediate to advanced level of rebounding fitness.

They consist of a variety of different strength training and toning exercises, focusing on the conscious and mindful movement of the body. I tend to focus a lot on targeting muscle groups. My sessions are where strength, endurance and hard work meet.

Carisa’s rebounding journey

Hello

My name is Carisa and I am a qualified Bounti Rebounding Instructor. I stumbled across rebounding and fell in love with it, on my journey of recovery after a severe burn-out. The lymph drainage and low impact was great on my road to recovery. As I progressed, the blend of cardio, strength training, and fun made me fall in love with being active again. This led me to enrolling and qualifying as a Bounti Rebounding Instructor in 2021.

When can I do a class, and how do I book?

We offer around 16 rebounding classes every week, for every age and fitness level. Click to check out our class timetable and book! 

All Toka class sessions are booked via the Octiv app. Once you’ve signed up with the Octiv app, you will then be sent an email, where all you have to do is create your individual, private Octiv profile and password. Your Octiv profile is where all of your class credits will live, and where you can select and book the sessions you would like to do, according to our class schedule.

How do our in-studio class packages work?

1. All first-timers qualify for a FREE class, so if it's your first time bouncing with us, enjoy a free trial class - on us! Simply, contact Karen via WhatsApp 0827855952.



Cancellation policy:

If you are unable to attend your class, and wish to cancel for whatever reason, the following applies:

  • If your class takes place before 12:00PM (mid-day), you must cancel by 18:00PM on the evening before

  • If your class is after 12:00PM (mid-day), you must cancel by 20:00PM on the evening before

  • If you do not cancel within the above-mentioned times, you will be billed for the class

  • Classes are NOT refundable
